MEDICAL TATTOO

Tattoos have been a popular pastime to express ourselves and individuality. Now there is an area of tattooing that is providing so much more for people. Medical tattooing is for patients who've had an event that's changed their appearance such as surgical scarring, stretch marks and breast cancer or for medical conditions such as vitiligo, and alopecia.

MASTECTOMY TATTOO

Some people consider having a decorative tattoo on their breast or chest after breast cancer surgery to disguise surgical scars and to boost their self esteem. This is sometimes referred to as a 'mastectomy tattoo', but could be after breast-conserving surgery, a mastectomy or breast reconstruction. Our artists have vast experience in working with scar tissue skin and can custom a unique design based on their clients own ideas to create a beautiful work of art.

AREOLA TATTOO

An areola tattoo essentially creates a new nipple, and there is one particularly powerful reason the procedure is done: to help breast cancer survivors be comfortable in their bodies post-surgery. Many cancer survivors undergo breast reconstruction surgery (or a double mastectomy if both breasts are affected), but still don’t feel comfortable in their bodies after all they have to endure. That’s where areola tattoos come in: they’re a great way to help women construct the bodies they want to boost self-confidence and help them feel natural in their own skin. It’s also a great alternative to nipple reconstruction surgery for those who want something a bit quicker and easier.

MASTOPEXY ( BREAST UPLIFT SURGERY) SCAR CAMOUFLAGE

Cosmetic Surgery to the breast can often result in scarring. This is often in the form of a white halo scar around the nipple or a lollipop scar running vertically down the breast. Micropigmentation, in conjunction with MCA Microneedling is a good option to camouflage these scars as well as others which may occur as part of breast surgery. If parts of the areola are missing, these can be restored by careful artistic tattooing.

SELF HARM SCAR COVER UP.

Support is important for people who are suffering from depression or mental illness and instability. It’s spaces, like those found within the tattoo community, where freedom of expression, authenticity, and honesty are wholeheartedly reinforced. That is where people can find the foundation of happiness and begin a healthy transformation.
In short: tattoos help with change. They give confidence, power and a sense of belonging to the wearer. In a world where we often feel that we control nothing, including having agency over our own body and life, tattoos give us a way to express our innermost selves in a beautiful and creative way.

DECORATIVE SCAR COVER UP.

Although some people wear scars with pride, others may look at scarred skin as a sort of blemish. If you’re someone who wants to cover their scars, getting a tattoo is a way to draw eyes away from the area. Our artists have many years experience in working with scar tissue skin and can custom a unique design to disguise the area of concern.

BRAZILIAN STRETCH MARK AND VITILIGO CAMOUFLAGE.

Disguising the appearance of stretch marks and Vitiligo through medical skin tone tattooing using a specialised tattooing technique, the ink is perfectly blended with your natural skin tone, thereby reducing the appearance of stretch marks or Vitiligo. This technique works better on darker skin tones where the scars are lighter than the surrounding skin. For lighter skin tones a dry needling method will be recommended.
